Following his anesthesiology internship and residency at BWH in 2014, he completed a two-year HMS Fellowship in Patient Safety and Quality and now serves as the BWH fellowship site director. He is an Assistant Professor in Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School and continues to practice as an attending anesthesiologist in the BWH operating rooms.
Current operational projects include prevention of central line infections, catheter-associated urinary tract infections, C. Difficile infection, venous thromboembolism, and improving hand hygiene. Upcoming work involves the deployment of individual-level performance reports for perioperative care processes, as well as real time inpatient patient safety dashboards for addressing hospital acquired conditions. Other research interests include perioperative medication utilization practices and linking quality improvement initiatives to perioperative outcomes.
